For the global 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence, UN Women’s Regional Office for the Arab States asked us to raise awareness of a growing threat: digital violence against women and girls. The goal was to show how real and widespread online abuse is, and what governments, technology companies and society can do to stop it. We produced an animated awareness video in three voice-over versions, Arabic, English and French, built on a warm orange and coral palette and expressive flat-character illustration. The film opens with key regional data, such as 49% of women internet users in the Arab region feeling unsafe online and 44% of digital violence incidents extending into real life, then maps the forms of digital violence through an animated icon system, before moving to clear responsibilities for all: stronger laws, trained security agencies, accountable digital platforms that remove harmful content quickly, and specialised support for survivors. It closes on the campaign message that the shock is real and so are the consequences, keeping every scene consistent with UN Women’s visual identity.
